MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

Title:The Diary of a Young Girl.
Author:Anne Frank
Category:Journal/Holocaust
Published:Contact Publishing,1947
Rating:10/10
It is Anne's thirteenth birthday. She writes that she woke up at six o'clock because she was excited, but since she couldn't get out of bed so early, she had to wait for about an hour to open her gifts. The first present she received was the diary she is now writing in. She calls this the nicest gift of all. Anne also received flowers, a game, candy, a puzzle, some books, money and a brooch. Later at school, she writes that she gave everyone sweet biscuits. She ends this entry by saying that she and her new diary are going to be great friends.

This diary is going on to become one of the worlds most personal recounts of the second world war. As a jew Anne explores what it is to have to wear the strange yellow star, and eventually she has to hide in a secret annex with her family. This is my favourite book of all time and i re-read it all the time(i have read it about 9 times since i was 9) this is well worth reading and really tears at the heart strings.

Anne Green’s final memory is of being hanged for infanticide. Now she lays motionless, unable to move her arms or legs. She can’t open her eyes and can’t talk but is she truly dead? Meanwhile, a medical student notices something strange. Was that a flicker of life he saw or his imagination? This book was really enjoyable although sometimes i felt as though the author was trying to be a little bit too clever for her own good! good read.

The only daughter of Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth was coddled while Henry VIII waited for a male prince, then neglected when Anne failed to deliver. Though officially declared a bastard, like her Catholic sister Mary, she remained an heir and was therefore a key piece in the chess game that resulted after the king’s death.

Living with her stepmother, Katherine Parr, the last of the king’s octet, and Katherine’s new husband, the rakish Thomas Seymour, Elizabeth acquired an intimidating education. She also acquired an unfortunate reputation, when Thomas Seymour began to make advances. Avoiding scandal by a hairsbreadth, the future Virgin Queen survived the chaos of her brother and sister’s reigns by never losing her head.

About three things I was absolutely positive:

Title:Last Chance Saloon
Author:Marian Keyes

Category:Romantic Fiction
Rating:8.5/10
Best friends since the days when legwarmers were cool, Tara, Katherine, and Fintan have survived small-town ennui, big-city heartbreak, and endless giddy nights out on the town. But now that they've graduated to their slightly more serious thirties, only Fintan has what can honestly be called a "love life." With Tara struggling daily with her eternal diet -- and her dreadful, penny-pinching boyfriend -- and Katherine keeping her single existence as ordered as her drawer full of matching bra and panty sets, it seems they'll never locate the exit door out of the "last chance saloon."But it's always when you are least ready for change that fate insists on one. And when catastrophe inevitably follows crisis, the lives of three best friends are sure to change in unexpected ways...and not necessarily for the worse.

This is a great book and i have read it about 5 times! It is just so fun and carefree and can have you laughing one moment and in tears the next, it is honestly a fantastic book.

This is a beguiling epic of magic, love, loss and betrayal based on the traditional fairytale "East of the Sun, West of the Moon". The lyrical writing and bold sweep of the story as Rose travels north will cast a spell over every reader. "A rich tapestry that will resonate with readers...The stuff of epic tale-telling, replete with high drama and compelling characterisations." - Booklist. Rose was born into the world facing north, and as a north child, superstition says that she will be a wanderer, travelling far from home. This prophecy is fulfilled when she is taken on the back of a white bear to a mysterious empty castle, where a silent stranger appears to her night after night.
